Hello! Nichol here today with a Designer Series project featuring the new Brushed Florals Stamp Set and Distress Inks for this pretty watercolored-looking florals card. With the vibrant, bright flower colors, a simple die cut frame and some pearl gemstones are all this card needs.
I trimmed a piece of watercolor cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and then stamped the flowers and leaves from the Brushed Florals Stamp Set using Distress Inks. Distress Inks are not made to stamp clean, crisp, solid images. They are more for techniques and such. By stamping the florals with these inks I can then take a paintbrush dipped in water and "smooth out" and fill in the color for gorgeous water-colored looking results! This technique is so quick and easy you're going to want to try it with all your solid floral stamps!
I stamped a greeting from the same Brushed Florals Stamp Set in the lower left corner using intense black ink.
Once the images are completely dry, I die cut a frame from watercolor cardstock using the Park Avenue Frame Die and adhered it over the floral backdrop. To add a little tone-on-tone detail to the frame, I added white on white stripe washi tape around the frame. I adhered the entire panel to a top fold card base and finished the design with small pearl gems.
