Hogs & Kisses with Thi

Mama Elephant Hogs and Kisses Gift Card Holder Birthday Card
Hello, friends! Thi here and today I want to show you how to make this birthday card featuring Hogs and Kisses that also holds a gift card! My kids get invited to a lot of birthday parties so I always have backup gift cards just in case I forget to buy a gift. I love these kind of cards because it adds a personal touch to a not-so-personal gift. To begin, I started by stamping out the images from Hogs and Kisses onto white card stock with Copic-friendly ink and colored all the images with Copic markers. I then die cut them with coordinating dies and put them aside to work on my interactive background.

Next, I die cut the new Woodgrain Cover Creative Cuts into kraft card stock for my base panel. I love the instant interest this Cover plate ads to my cards! I then die cut the smaller scallop frame and gift card lift flap from Framed Tags-Waverly Creative Cuts onto Bristol smooth paper and ink blended the bottom with Distress Ink Abandon Carol and faded into white. After the ink has dried, I stamped the sentiment from Scripty Bday onto the lift flap. To assemble the card, I lined up the ink blended piece on top of my Woodgrain Cover background as a guide so that I can use the little gift card insert die that comes with Framed Tags-Waverly Creative Cuts to hold my gift card in place. After the die cut was completed, I assembled my card by adhering the Woodgrain Cover panel onto a top-folding A2 card base with strong tape runner. I backed up the small scalloped framed with foam tape to give my gift card some wiggle room and adhered it directly on top of the Woodgrain Cover base.

I popped up my little piggies with some foam tape, and my card is completed! I found a Lucille's gift card I could use to demonstrate the gift card holder and didn't realize how ironically funny it is with my little piggies until after I took the photo - poor little piggies! There you have it - a sweet little birthday card ready to give to a special friend! Thank you for stopping by and hopefully I inspired you to make something today! Mama Elephant Products Used:
