Zodiac Rooster with Nichol

Hello friends! Nichol here today with a Headliner Alpha slim card featuring the new Headliner Alpha Creative Cuts Dies, Zodiac Rooster Stamp Set, Zodiac Rooster Creative Cuts Dies, and Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts Dies. The previously released Little Chickie Agenda Stamp Set and coordinating dies are the perfect finishing compliment to the design!

To create the background scene I used the Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts to die cut a light blue long rectangle, olive green rectangle, and dark olive green rectangle. From the two green rectangles, borders from the die collection were used to die cut borders and they were adhered along the bottom edge of the light blue rectangle. A long white scalloped rectangle was die cut and the background was adhered to it. The card base was created by trimming the light blue cardstock to 7" x 8 1/2" and scored at 3 1/2" along the 7" side to form the card base.

Part of the sentiment from the Zodiac Rooster Stamp Set was masked off and stamped along the bottom edge with clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder.

The Headliner Alpha Creative Cuts letters to spell "friend" for the rest of the greeting were die cut from several colors of cardstock.

I stamped the images from the Zodiac Rooster Stamp Set and Little Chickie Agenda Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a no line coloring ink and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers combinations:
  • Roosters: Platinum Brown, Warm Gray, 2, Blender, Deep Red, Red, Orange, Bright Yellow, Pink Haze
  • Chickies: Bright Yellow, Yellow, Pale Yellow, Orange, Platinum Brown, Pink Haze
  • Eggs: Blue Gray, Haze Blue, Blender
  • Paintbrush and Bucket: Deep Red, Red, Blue Gray, Haze Blue, Platinum Brown, Warm Gray 2
  • Envelope: Blue Gray, Haze Blue, Red
The images were die cut with the coordinating Zodiac Rooster Creative Cuts Dies and Little Chickie Agenda Dies and adhered with the Headliner Alpha as shown. The rooster in the center was also die cut with the "wings" so that he could "hold" the letter E in the greeting!
