PL CARDS FROM JENN BIEDERMAN

Morning! Jenn here and today I am showcasing the banners from the Be You set. I love banners and repeated the use of them throughout this PL page. I chose some fun ink colors for the banners to accent the B/W photos with pops of black accents including the hot-air balloon from the Sunny Skies set.

I love how this 4x6 card turned out. I originally started with a 4x6 card from my PL stash, then cut it down a bit to add the fun grid background, also from the Be You set. Here's a close-up to show the dimension:

I added some liquid pearls to the hot-air balloon. The "Good Day" sentiment is a portion of the original sentiment from the Up & Away set. This was stamped onto the back of the flag that's from the previous PL spread.

Just remember that all of those "factory" 3x4/4x6 cards from PL can be altered in some way to suit your needs, even the most basic ones!
Hope you enjoyed today's PL page! Catch you later!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there! I am so excited to be sharing a few projects with you today, using the Mama Elephant June stamp release!  When I saw them, I got a wee bit excited, no joke.  For my cards today, I chose to work with Up and Away as well as Big Words. Up and Away is one adorable stamp set.  The little animals are just too cute, and the sentiments are perfect for all kinds of occasions!  For my card today, I used a bit of patterned paper from Dear Lizzy and American Crafts, stamped the cute little rabbit and colored it in with markers.  I added a bit of ribbon and stamped my sentiment onto a patterned paper banner.

My next project, I focused on the sweet umbrella!  How fun this is to watercolor!  I borrowed my sons Crayola watercolors and painted in the images that I had stamped down the side of a white watercolor paper square.  I then stamped the sentiment, and adhered a few black pearls...(one of which seems to have migrated without my notice before photographing!)

For the next set, Big Words, I tried to incorporate lots of color to my cards, to bring out those fun words!  To start, I selectively embossed a white cardstock panel with a chevron folder, leaving the middle open for my repeating sentiment.  I then stamped the "THX" multiple times in a fun color combo, finishing it off with part of a sentiment from Say What.  Lastly, a few rhinestones to finish it off, along with a bright green card base.

Lastly, I combined Up and Away with Big words to create this fun card.  I took the balloon image from Up and Away, stamped it once, masked the balloons and stamped again.  I then went in with more watercolors and painted them all in.  I rounded the corners and adhered it to a teal card base, stamping and popping up my sentiment on a strip of white cardstock.  Of course, I couldn't forget those big black pearls!

Phew!  Thank you for hanging in there, that was quite a long post!  These stamps are great for just about any occasion, the possibilities are endless, as you can see!  Thank you Kryssi, for having me on the blog today, it was such an honor!

SUNSHINEY GOODNESS FROM GERALYN SY!

Hi everyone! Geralyn here, and I have a new layout to share with you all. Summer is upon us, and I couldn't help reflect back on last summer. It was pretty amazing, so I decided to do an overview layout with photos from last summer. I used the new Be You and Big Words stamp sets, as well a few older Mama Elephant ones.

Love that font for 'utterly amazing', from the Be You stamp set. The cute clouds are from last month's Sunny Skies.

On this printable tag I designed, I stamped 'I heart you' from the Hello set. The word 'unforgettable' to the left is from the Today Was set.

There are so many fun and cool, graphic stamps in the Be You set: pictured here is the epic circle stamp, photo stamp and heart arrow stamp. I also used the word 'love' from the Big Words set for part of my title.

So yes, lots and lots of stamping on this page I think the Mama Elephant stamps were perfect for adding extra little touches to this layout. Thanks for stopping by!

WELCOME NICHOL MAGOUIRK!

Happy Monday! Welcome back to another fun filled week here on the ME blog. We've got the gorgeous and multi-talented Nichol Magouirk here with us today. Let's all let out a collective happy squeal! :) Nichol pretty much rocks whatever she designs. Everything always looks so complete and composed and clean. I was always drawn to her beautiful layouts and now that she started doing Project Life, she continues to inspire! Be sure to visit her blog below and now I hand the keyboard over to Nichol! :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I adore stamping. I can't get enough of adding that handmade inky touch to my layouts, cards and projects.

My newest obsession?

Those of you who've known or followed me for awhile know how much I love adding text stamping to the projects I create and with the variety of stamp sets Mama Elephant offers there is literally a stamp for almost anything you want to say!

I'm so tickled to get to share a project on the Mama Elephant Blog today! I thought it would be fun to show how I incorporate my ME stamps into my Project Life pages.

Project Life is one of those creative endeavors that can be as simple or elaborate as you want to make it. Today, I opted to show you a little more of the "simple" approach (or as simple as I get, anyway!) by adding stamping to pre-made Midnight Project Life journaling cards. Stamping adds a whole new look to these cards and makes them my own. I love that.

In addition to the June Release Stamp Sets Big Words and Be You, I also incorporated the ME Stamp Sets Wanderlust, Midnight Letters, Sunny Skies, Smitten, Good Times, Trifecta, Say What and We Click! That's a lot of stamp goodness! ;)

I mixed and matched the stamps from different stamp ME stamp sets to created custom stamped journaling cards which happens to just be my very favorite creative way to do Project Life!
My favorite card of the bunch? The #HB2U one.

I took the pre-printed journaling card ("you ar so very loved") and added the hashtag and greeting from ME Big Words stamped in Stampin' Up Crumb Cake Ink, then I took the balloons (my very favoritest balloons.....ever) from ME Good Times and stamped 3 of them at the top of the card using Stampin' Up Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight Inks. I added glitter to the open "dots" on the balloons with a Sakura Glitter Pen and stamped the tiny, tiny heart from ME Midnight Letters on the yellow balloon using SU Real Red Ink, then colored over the heart with the glitter pen.

The kraft journaling card was completely created using stamps! How cool is that?!!!!  I stamped the top border "today was" from the ME Today Was Stamp Set using SU Crumb Cake Ink, then stamped the days of the week border from the same stamp set using SU Pool Party Ink. I used the circle stamp to note the day (stamped in SU Real Red) and used the word "instagrammed" in the "today was" box to show that the quote/journaling and photo were from my Instagram account that day. Then I stamped the hashtag and word "YUM" from the ME Big Words Stamp Set using SU Crumb Cake Ink and stamped the phrase "I Super *thumbs up* This!" from ME Good Times Stamp Set underneath.

The "right now" journaling card is another example of incorporating a pre-printed journaling card with lots of stamping! The date stamp comes from the ME Wanderlust Stamp Set, then I stamped the next two phrases from the ME Be You Stamp Set using SU Pool Party Ink. I love how they tie into the pre-printed text on the card! I used a hashtag and the word "YES" from the ME Big Words set stamped in SU Crumb Cake Ink and stamped the cute little camera from ME We Click. I colored in the camera with Inktense Colored Pencils (just added a smidgen of color), then I used the Tim Holtz Water Blender Pen to smooth out the color. Easy peasy! Once the water was dry I took the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and colored over the heart to make it pop!

I hope that this will inspire you to break out your stamp sets and use them for Project Life or your other scrapbooking projects and thanks Kryssi for letting me spend a little time on the the ME Blog today!

Have a good one...

A little Booklet from Jenn Biederman

Morning! Jenn here and today I am sharing an ongoing project I am doing with the More Little Happy Moments class being taught over at Studio Calico by Maggie Holmes. I am in love with her kit that includes a book that is eventually completely altered by yours truly! My book's theme is about happy moments in my DD Haley's life over the last 14 years. I have completed three spreads so far, including the one I am sharing today. I love the Big Words stamp set from ME this month, and had to incorporate them into this altered book in some way. I added the big word "Love" onto a notecard that fits perfectly into the vellum envelope that is sewn on to the base of the layout. I will be adding a note on the back of the notecard. Loving the big words in different ink colors!

Here's a close-up of the note:

This is the left side of spread:

The class is set up to give us challenges (topic & technique) each week, so that has been helping me to get my mojo on. The pockets on the left page was done by folding over two pages and sewing them together. I was able to add in a postcard from Haley's grandparents from the year 2003 when these photos were taken, along with a tag of her and Grandma.

Here's a look at the entire spread:

The Today Was stamp was perfect to add to the envelope.

This has been such a fun adventure and if you'd like to see more pages done, please check out my blog here. Be sure to stop back Monday for some more goodies being shared by Nichol Magouirk!
Catch you later!
