Designer Series: Jenn Biederman

Morning! Jenn, here, and today I am sharing a couple cards I made using the True Friend stamp set. I mixed things up a bit this time by using the gold Heart Stickers in an unconventional way.

I first used the negative space from the heart stickers to act as a mask for the green hearts.

I masked off the outside edges with post-it notes.

I used the Mojito ink and gently inked up the hearts to give them an "ombre" effect. This was done by applying less pressure as I worked towards the top.

The mask should be pulled off slowly as to not rip the cardstock.

After trimming the kraft cardstock down to the desired size, I adhered it to the white cardstock base. I stamped the True Friend sentiment onto the Bold Banner diecut and popped it up with foam tape.

I also created this next card by randomly placing the heart stickers on the background and then dabbed on the Bubblegum ink. Once the ink was set, I gently peeled off the stickers to reveal the original white base color.

I mixed up the sentiment a bit by masking off the words from the True Friend set onto the Love Quotes diecut.

  6. Jenn - I love the idea of using the negative space from the stickers. I usually don't pay attention to stuff I am throwing away - but now you have me thinking that I need to pay more attention to this kind of stuff. My grandson was visiting the other day and I was going to throw out the mesh bag from the oranges and he told me - Grandma don't throw that away, we can use it in our crafts -- he is only 4 years old. So that is twice in one week that I have seen the ability to recycle items --- so cool! I love how easy it would be to use the heart sticker negative and it is perfectly lined up. Your cards are inspirational and now I am going to get to work and make some cards. Thank you!
