Carnival Cupcakes with Pamela!

Hello everyone! I'm working with one of the cutest stamp set that was just released in August and every time I look at the stamps, it's just cuteness overload :D I started off with a die cut rectangle using the Index Card CC. The sentiment was first heat embossed onto the panel and then blended with a mixture of orange, dark yellow and light yellow on top.

I created my bunny on a cupcake by stamping and carefully masking certain areas. The image was coloured with copics with some stickles on the cupcake as icing. This was then carefully cut out using the coordinating dies with the partial die-cutting technique.

And here you go! The cutest birthday card ever made and coincidentally, this card will be going to a little girl who was born in the year of the rabbit!

Sentimental Borders with Emily!

It's Emily here today, and I'm showcasing the Sentimental Borders stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink on an angle on watercolor cardstock die cut from Index Card Creative Cuts.

After heat embossing it with a faded edge, I watercolored over it with Gansai watercolor paints.

On the scalloped card base, which was die cut from Femme Frames Creative Cuts, I used the heart and triangle borders from Embellished Tag Creative Cuts to create my own stencil for embossing paste backgrounds. Femme Frames and Embellished Tag are also sold together in the Basic Set, along with Dainty Bow and Bold Banner.

I knew that the twin recipients of these cards were celebrating their third birthday with cupcakes so I added the yummy cupcakes and adorable animals from Carnival Cupcakes (+ Creative Cuts).

To finish, I embellished the embossing paste corners with gorgeous sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rewind with Nichol

Hi there! Nichol here today with a Designer Series card showcasing the brand new Rewind Stamp Set. Sometimes a simple design can pack a big punch simply with the colors you use and the layout of the card. The black stamped and embossed borders along each side of the watercolored design make the colors really pop showing off the resisted stamping.

Rewind_NicholMagouirk1

I stamped three images from the Rewind Stamp Set on watercolor paper with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder before applying four colors of Distress Ink over the design (I used Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks). The embossed areas resist the ink. I dropped water all over the design using a paintbrush. The Distress Inks wick away creating a great distressed watercolored background.

Once the background is completely dry, take a dry rag or paper towel to the embossed areas and gently wipe away any ink that may have pooled on the embossing. The embossing will be much more vibrant.
I stamped two borders from the Basic Borders Stamp Set on black cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed each with black embossing powder for tone-on-tone borders.
A scattering of sequins completes the design.

Carnival Toppers with Ashley

Hi! Ashley here with a card featuring the new stamp set Carnival Toppers!

The whole card started with the super fun sentiment. I noticed that it fit perfectly inside the new Polariod Fun Creative Cuts! I love when dies work out like that! After I die cut the large polariod in white and light grey I stamped the sentiment, blending Bubblegum & Lollipop pigment inks to create an ombre look.

I added a cupcake from Carnival Cupcakes to compliment the sentiment. I stamped the frosting in Sunshine ink, the star with Lollipop and the cupcake base with Winter and then added them to the top and bottom of my sentiment. It's fun to take a break from paper piecing and coloring every once in awhile. I love the look that you can achieve with just inks. The Mama Elephant colors are so vibrant!

My centerpiece was then added to some patterned paper and finished off with a few enamel dots and string.

Thanks for joining me today!

Carnival Cupcakes & Toppers with Torico

Hi Mama Elephant fans! It's Torico here for my guest Designer Series post.
First of all I'd like to say a big thank you to Kryssi for giving me this great opportunity to collaborate with you in designing stamp sets!

Today I'd like to show you how versatile the CARNIVAL CUPCAKES and CARNIVAL TOPPERS sets are.
These sets feature cupcakes and cupcake toppers, and you can mix and match the images in these sets to design your own cute cupcakes. But wait... look at those images carefully. The cupcakes are not only for cupcakes!

For my first card I created a baby mobile with a top part of cupcake, which was cut out using the Carnival Cupcake Creative Cuts, and a few tiny images from the Carnival Toppers set.

For the background I stamped a sentiment border from the Sentimental Borders set on vellum in white pigment ink. I used the Just Hatched set for my sentiments, which were also stamped on vellum.

For my second card I turned a cupcake wrapper from the Carnival Cupcakes set into a lamp shade. Can you guess what image I used for the light bulbs? -- Cherry!:)

And the top part of cupcake can be used as a mushroom cap!

  • Stamp a bunny and mask it. Then stamp a mushroom cap (I mean a top part of cupcake) and draw a stem with a gel pen.
  • Mask the mushroom cap too.

  • Remove the masks, color in the images (I used Copics for my coloring), and add the grassy ground.

I decided to add some polka dots to the mushroom cap with a white gel pen. The sentiment is from the Up And Away.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. Thank you for stopping by!

STAMP HIGHLIGHT: SENTIMENTAL BORDERS

Today we end our August Stamp Highlights with Sentimental Borders.  These borders really speaks for it self!

Let's take a look at what our Design Team have for us today!

These borders are perfect for creating a subtle background! We love the blue against the white embossing!

Laura used the Sentimental borders to create a background. She used the Inline Letters dies for the sentiment with some ink blending underneath.

Sentimental Borders adds a soft trendy backdrop to this sweet celebration card!

Torico made a mask using a circle die and stamped a sentiment border in four colors to create her own patterned paper.

Nichol created an elegant background for her card by repeatedly stamping one of the Sentimental Borders with a gold ink on the stitched rectangle Index Card Creative Cuts Die. She layered the scalloped die cut vellum over the text and added minimal stamped embellishments on top for the perfect wedding or anniversary card!

STAMP HIGHLIGHT: REWIND

Rewind is today's stamp highlight. Let's make some noise and rewind back in time where we all donned our walkman and grooved to the music from our stacks and stacks of cassette tapes! This set will certainly bring a smile to those who would like to reminisce.

Our Design Team sure ROCKED these projects!

The cassette tape with a paper pieced label pops against the bright colors behind.

How about the cassette coloured in primary colours? The enamel dots give life to the cassette stamp and it looks like it has something fun to tell us!

Emily's cassette tape anchors a three-part sentiment created by combining several words and phrases from Rewind. The ampersand from Index Card Creative Cuts, animals from Carnival Cupcakes and sweet little speech bubbles from Polaroid Fun tie it all together.

Ashley's card is perfectly paper pieced with a soft grey sentiment that totally rocks!

STAMP HIGHLIGHT: CARNIVAL TOPPERS

Hi All! We are back with our second day of Stamp Highlights with Carnival Toppers! There was so much goodness from the collaboration with Torico, we couldn't fit it all in a 4x6 set so we ended up with a second set! The sentiments in this set makes us giggle and the little images are just darling! We hope you feel the same!

Nichol stamped and embossed one of the Carnival Toppers greetings on vellum, embossing with silver powder and placing the vellum inside the Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts frame. A Copic colored cupcake from the Carnival Cupcakes Stamp Set adorned with the Carnival Toppers flower accent adds a bright pop of color to the card.

Elena brought the cuteness to this bunny party! We love the confetti background.

Geralyn created a festive birthday card with Carnival Toppers. The little dot stamp was perfect for stamping a confetti background.

Laura used the Carnival Cupcakes, Carnival Toppers & coordinating dies to create this fun cupcake card.

Pamela made a simple birthday card with 5 candles, perfect for a child turning 5!

Emily stretched out the longest sentiment in the set by breaking it up and having the little girl from In My Heart emphasize the buying part. LOL! The cute little speech bubbles and polaroid frames are from Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts.

Torico created this card using the chalkboard technique. She heat embossed the images in three colors!

STAMP HIGHLIGHT : CARNIVAL CUPCAKES

Hello all! Today we start our first Stamp Highlight with Carnival Cupcakes! These super adorable images just speaks for itself! We at Mama Elephant are genuinely honored to have this collaboration with Torico because she is truly amazing! This set is beyond cute with a cherry on top!

So who is ready to be over dosed with sweetness?!

Ashley used a combination of stamps and dies to create her sweet cupcake. The tiny bunny topper is the perfect addition to this congratulations card!

A trio of sweet Copic colored animal Carnival Cupcakes with glitter frosting will bring a smile to any birthday boy or girl's face! Nichol created her own text background with a Sentimental Borders stamp inked with white on a dark cardstock so the cupcakes take center stage and stamped and embossed a greeting from Carnival Toppers on the Bold Banner vellum die cut to finish the design.

Elena showed it's doesn't have to be about cupcakes - the animals are adorable all on their own!

Torico kept the design quite simple to make the watercolored cupcakes stand out.

Laura created a little birthday party with the critters from the Carnival Cupcakes.

Emily created a complete party scene using the streamers and confetti from Party Kit, along with a sentiment from Carnival Toppers. Index Card Creative Cuts provides the perfect card base.
