Mette here today with this elegant birthday card featuring the new Hooray Wishes set and Quick Stripes creative cuts.
I really wanted to create a simple card that took full advantage of how easy it is to make a striped background with the new Quick Stripes dies, so I started by cutting the ½ inch stripe from white and grey cardstock and added them to my card base, trimming off the excess as needed.
I stamped my Hooray Wishes people on a piece of white cardstock and cut them out using the label from Union Square. Then I colored them in, making sure I had a pretty gradient in the background too. I added little dots to the background as well to make it more interesting. Then I glued it to the card base, slightly higher than the middle.
For my sentiment, I cut out the Hooray text from the matching dies, once from gold and three times from the same grey cardstock. I glued all of these together to create a dimensional sentiment, which I glued over the top of the colored label.
Then I used the sequin die from Inlaid Balloons dies to cut a few gold sequins, which I used to finish off the outside of my card.
To finish off the entire card, I used one of the Inside Birthday Sayings to stamp a message inside.
