Eggtasic with Megan

Hi friends! This is Megan here and I have an Easter themed card to share with you today. It features the latest set illustrated by Aida Zamora called Eggtastic. I paired it with the Mega Flipper - Creative Cuts and love how it turned out!

I began by stamping images from Eggtastic onto 80 lb Neenah Solar White Smooth Cardstock using a warm brown hybrid ink. I then colored the images using Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating Eggtastic - Creative Cuts.

For the Mega Flipper, I die cut the scalloped rectangles in the set from white cardstock. I then masked the edges off using Post It Tape. (I learned this trick from watching the amazing Nichol Sphor. I love how it keeps a crisp white outline without having to add another layer.) I lightly ink blended the panels using a blending brush. For the sky, I used Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks. For the grass, I used two shades of green dye ink and flicked on diluted Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to add a bit of texture.

To give the flipping rectangles a finished look, I die cut the scalloped rectangles from a coordinating green cardstock and adhered them to the back of each of the scene panels. This is by no means necessary, but adds a little extra something.

I love how the Mega Flipper is so easy to assemble and allows you to have mulitiple scenes on one card!

I planned out which images that I wanted on each panel and adhered them down using liquid glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped the large "happy blessings" from Eggtatic. I then die cut the scalloped rectangle from the Sweet Feline - Creative Cuts. (The scalloped edge of this die matches the scene panels so well.) I again masked off the edges using Post It Tape and ink blended the panel with an aqua hybrid ink. Finally, I die cut a piece of patterned paper for the main panel using the largest rectangle from Peek A Frame - Creative Cuts.

Thank you so much for visiting with us on the Mama Elephant Blog! There is a video on the Mama Elephant YouTube Channel showing how to assemble the Mega Flipper that Rina Galit made.  I will link it here in case you would like to check it out. I have also listed the Mama Elephant products that I used for today's card below with links to the Mama Elephant Shop for your convenience. Have a great day!
