Guest Designer Series with Michelle, Ali, Jennifer, Asuka and Mimi

Hi! Welcome back to another day of fabulous projects from our Guest Designers! Please send lots of love and thank you again for joining us with our Anniversary Celebration!

** Michelle - peppers.paper.playpen **

Hi Crafty Friends! My name is Michelle and I have been a fan of Mama Elephant stamps for years - at first, just picking up a stamp here and there because the images were just so irresistibly adorable! But it wasn’t until attending their 7-year celebration that I really delved into the paper crafting world. So I am extremely thrilled and honored to have this opportunity to share my project on the Mama Elephant blog.

I made a 5x7 boxcard/displaycard with a slider element featuring the sweet bunnies from Tree Picking. I stamped each image from the stamp set with Memento Rich Cocoa and a bunch more of those trees to create a snowy scene with tons of trees. I also chose some images from the Little Sloth Agenda (aka baby yetis, depending on how you color them!) and the snowkitty and the pile of snowballs from Yappy Woofmas.

For the snowkitty, I masked off an arm and placed the branch in the bunny’s hands to create the scene of him building the snowkitty.

Then I copic-colored all the images and accentuated all the eyes with a black Copic Multiliner. Do you recognize that car from a classic Christmas movie? It’s inspired by the Griswold family truckster from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!

For the mountains, I used the Snow Capped Mountains Creative Cuts and extended it so that it is 7 inches long. I then colored the snowcaps with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and the mountains with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide. For the landscape, I hand cut some wavy snowbanks and lightly colored the tops of each layer with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. I used the longest die from the Straight Sliders Creative Cuts in the front-most layer for the slider element and also stamped a sentiment from the Tree Picking stamp. The full sentiment is revealed when the “truckster” drives off!

Lastly, I attached each layer with an accordian-fold so that this can be flattened to fit in an envelope and easily expanded to be displayed on a desk.

I hope you enjoy this busy winter scene and have fun looking for the baby yetis!

** Ali - alilovescardmaking **

This is a happy hello from Ali’s craftroom from @alilovescardmaking. I’m a long-time (20+years!) cardmaker with a love of many different styles and techniques. I do like to step out of my comfort zone occasionally and tackle an interactive card or 3D project when the inspiration hits!

My project today was one such time - these Mini cups from a local dollar store are so adorable - a perfect treat container size and begging for some cute images and splatters of color which I added with paint, along with the cute @mamaelephant images from the Hot Cocoa stamp set.

They look adorable with some fluffy snow marker added and some white highlights. The sentiments are from Holiday Messages.

** Jennifer - cre8iveli **

Hi crafty friends! Jenn Li of @cre8iveli here, and I am so incredibly thankful for this guest designer opportunity. My card crafting journey started with Mama Elephant's Pandamonium, so joining in the 9 year anniversary release is a crafty dream come true!

For today's project, I had so much fun combining the adorable images from Oh Gnomie Tree with the Slider Glider Creative Cut to create this interactive card.

The little gnome images running towards each other were perfect for the sentiment from Inside Holiday Messages

I added snow with a puffy snow marker and I also added flocking to the beards to create some fun fuzzy beards!

I created this clean and simple slimline card to highlight the sweet sentiments of the Inside Holiday Messages. The Scene Builder set created the perfect backgrounds for the penguin, sloth, and snowman images from the Little Agenda sets to make this simple and sweet holiday card.

** Asuka - asuka1980 **

Hi,crafty friends! My name is Asuka. I love so adorable Mama Elephant stamps, coloring and making shakers.

I feel happy when I make them. Also, I am so happy and full of heart every day to share the cuteness of these stamps with people all over the world and meet them.

** Mimi - dasmimz **

Hi there! This is Mimi and I have a winter holiday card here using the Slim Woodland Die. I did, however, rotate the die and used it upside down to create a little ice rink.

I used the new stamp sets Penguins Go Skating and Tree Picking. The smaller trees are from the Me and My Yeti stamp set. I also white heat embossed the sentiments.
