Costumed Cuties with Megan

Hello friends! I am happy to be back on the Mama Elephant Blog after taking a little break in May. The June 2022 Release is jam packed with awesome products and I featured one of the new sets in today's project.

When I first looked at the adorable animals from Costumed Critters, I thought that it would be fun to have them dressed in cozy pjs instead of Halloween costumes. I love trying to find different ways to use products because it really helps you to get the most out of your supplies.

To begin, I stamped images from Costumed Critters, Toasty Friends, Tree Picking, Merrygrams AEIOUY, and Yappy Woofmas on Neenah Solar White 80 lb Smooth Cardstock using a dark brown hybrid ink. After coloring the images with Copic Markers, I die cut them using the coordinating creative cuts.

Next, I chose a patterned paper from my stash that looked like a wallpaper design. I die cut it using the second largest rectangle from B2B Rectangles CC. To mute the pattern just a bit, I layered a piece of vellum over the top. Before adhering the two layers together, I heat embossed a sentiment from Mixed Holiday Greetings onto the piece of vellum.

To ground the scene, I ink blended a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks. I flicked on a bit of Vintage Photo and Copic White to add some texture to the flooring.

After all of the elements for my card were ready, I adhered the background pieces together. I then added the images using liquid glue, foam tape, and glue dots. To give the scene some fun shine and interest, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard and a white gel pen.
