Oh happy day with Geralyn Sy!

Hey everyone! Geralyn here, with a new layout today using some of the new Mama Elephant stamp sets. I had fun putting this layout together and I really like the everyday sentiments included in the stamp sets.

The 'Today Was' stamp from the Today Was set is awesome! I inked it up in different colors to use as a focus point on my layout. I also used the Midnight Letters alpha set for my title - love that font.

Here's one of the fun new speech bubble stamps from the Hello set. I used foam adhesive behind it for some added dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope this layout inspires you to pull out your stamps for your own layouts.

A video from Emily Leiphart!

Hey everyone, the super talented Emily Leiphart is back with us today with a quick video!

Emily is such a doll, be sure to watch it and leave Emily lots of love. And visit her blog HERE too!

Thank you, Em!!! Your work is truly creative and eye opening! :)

* * * * *

Hi, it's Emily Leiphart and I'm back to share two more projects. My first card uses the Papa Love stamp set and I created a wardrobe of ties for Father's Day.

Here's a quick video tutorial to show you how I did it:

When Dad opens the doors, he'll find a nice assortment of ties for every occasion. ;)

My second card using Today Was  is a clean and simple one-layer card. I was inspired by my son's artwork. Lately, he's been drawing a lot of shapes, mazes and stick figures. The happy faces are his favourite and he draws them on all his people. Heehee.

I imagined the coloured triangles as a maze that leads to the sentiment and then the smiling couple. I used the 'circle' for the dates to stamp their heads and used a marker to draw their faces. I'll give this to my little man, of course!

It's been an honour guesting for Mama Elephant this month. Big thanks to Kryssi for having me here!

PL Design Inspiration: Jenn Biedermann

Hey, Jenn here, with my latest Project Life (PL) pages. First up is a a page covering a day (happened to be a snow day) where I focused on both daughters using mostly the Lovely Mums set.

JennB_LovelyMums_PL

The days of the week from the Today Was set worked great for indicating what day I was documenting:

JennB_LovelyMums_PL_Detail1

Here I repeat stamped the mums and also the "I Love You More" stamp:

JennB_LovelyMums_PL_Detail2

On the 3x4 card below, I embossed the mum onto the misted background, blended in some brick red distress ink to give it some depth and added a few pink enamel dots:

JennB_LovelyMums_PL_Detail3

That sweet diecut was cut from my Silhouette (designed by Kolette Hall) and works perfectly with the mum & sentiment. Here I am using the 3x4 frame from the Today Was set again (I love it!):

JennB_LovelyMums_PL_Detail4
I have always been a fan of interactive elements on my pages, so I had to add this little flap onto the page. It hides a little journaling about my daughter, Haley.

This next photo shows the pocket I cut out from a 4x6 card of the Seafoam PL Kit. I like the geometric edge created & how it allowed me enough room to add in the sentiment from the Papa Love set and the veneer arrow. I sewed some pretty mums onto the pocket too.

Here's a full view of the photo I keep tucked away in the pocket:

JennB_LovelyMums_PL_Detail6

Now for a completely different color scheme/look, I have done up a page covering a few days using a mix of the Hello & Today Was stamps.

JennB_HelloandTodayWas_PL

In this next photo, you can see that I sewed down the middle of the 4x6 pocket. I first started with my 4x6 photo, then decided I wanted to journal about our day at the doctor. I then adhered the 3x4 journal card to the photo with washi tape, finally added another journal card. I ended up with a little flip page and cut the page protector so it could be viewed without pulling it out.

JennB_HelloandTodayWas_PL_Detail1

I used the ampersand from the Today Was set again...love it!

JennB_HelloandTodayWas_PL_Detail2

The Hello word balloons are so fun (love your handwriting, Kryssi)!

Design Inspiration: Geralyn Sy

Hi everyone! It's Geralyn here today. The March releases are so much fun and I have a new layout to share with you today using two of the new sets - Today Was and Hello. In particular, I love Mama Elephant's unique take on the speech bubble trend! These speech bubbles are really cute and I love Kryssi's handwriting.

I found my very first passport photo the other day and it made me smile. I had to get it on a page! I used the chevron frame stamp from Today Was to frame my photo. I wanted it to be a bit bolder so instead of just inking up the frame stamp, I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it.

I thought it would be fun to add some speech bubbles from the Hello set, and I tilted them for a bit of interest. I used pop dots behind them for added dimension. It's fun to mix up different words and sentiments for the space below the speech bubbles, either with stamps or with handwriting!

The Mama Elephant stamps are versatile and not only are they perfect for cards, but they're really great for scrapbooking as well Thanks for stopping by!

Design Inspiration: Guest designer Emily Leiphart

Oh Em Gee. So, so, sooo excited to formally introduce this month's guest designer, Emily Leiphart! I was so excited to get her projects in my inbox, I knew that they would make me do virtual cartwheels and back flips. Emily is quickly becoming known for her creativity in using stamps and crazy selective inking skills! Her two cards today is an excellent show of what I mean, just see for yourself! Make sure to leave Emily some love, I'm sure she'll really appreciate them! :)

My name is Emily Leiphart and I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've been married for nine years and have a four year old son who keeps me very busy. I left a corporate research job with a big audit firm to stay at home with my son after he was born. I've been crafty my whole life but I got serious about stamping and making cards after my son was born. I'm a published makeup artist and paper crafter. It brings me great joy to see my work in print. I love stamps and I've recently started using more patterned paper and embellishments. Trying new things keeps things interesting. I have a whimsical clean and simple style and I love showcasing how versatile stamps can be.

I'm delighted to be joining Mama Elephant as a guest designer this month! Kryssi has always been one of my stamping idols (aww shucks, Emily, you're making me blush! haha) and I was so excited when she started her own stamp company. Today, I get to share a couple of cards combining two of the newest releases, Hello and Lovely Mums. If you know me, I love to mix and match stamp sets. Confining me to one stamp set is pure torture! I wanted to mix more than these two sets so I had to limit myself to make sure each set had its own spotlight. ;)

For my first card, I stamped both flowers from Lovely Mums using both the outline and solid flowers. I love the matching solids so you don't have to colour if you don't want to. The speech bubble is from Hello. To create 'for you', I mixed and masked 'thank you for everything' from Lovely Mums. The patterned papers are from Teresa Collins' Memories paper pad.

My second card features five of the speech bubbles from Hello. I created a rainbow column that contains two phrases. If you read the scripted speech bubbles, it says one thing. If you read the smaller font below, you'll see that I used the 'you're the most beautiful...' sentiment from Lovely Mums and the same 'friend' sentiment from the first card to finish the sentence. I used foam tape to pop up three of the bubbles and added sequins with rhinestone inserts. The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins' She Said paper pad.

I'll be back next week with projects using Papa Love and Today Was. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Design Inspiration: Jenn Biederman

Hey, it's Jenn Biederman, and today I'm sharing a layout using the new Papa Love set. I love everything about these stamps, especially how perfect they are for making those daddy cards, but also for layouts celebrating the men in our lives. Since Haley is my husband's step-daughter, I thought I'd mix things up a bit by adding in the word "step" to the Best Dad Ever stamp. I simply cut the stamp to add in the extra word. No worries, the stamp can be placed right back together and used as a whole once again.

JennB_PapaLove_Layout

I stamped up the chevron borders from the Modern Borders set to make the special arrow below. I simply stamped them several times & then cut it to the size I wanted for the arrow.

JennB_PapaLove_Layout_Detail1

I added some interest to a couple of the background blocks by angling & repeating the Man of the House stamp:

JennB_PapaLove_Layout_Detail3

Here's a detailed shot of the flip-up journaling:

JennB_PapaLove_Layout_Detail2

Don't you just love that orange ampersand?!?! I also added in a sentiment from the new Lovely Mums set, which I'll be showcasing on my next Project Life page soon!

Catch you later!

Stamp Highlight: Hello + Stampede Winners

Last month, on the heels of So Breezy, someone commented that we should make an entire set based off my handwriting. How ominous. :) So earlier I mentioned that our Hello speech bubble set is a bit different than what's already out in the market. We originally had them pieced together as a single stamp, but after brainstorming with Pearl, she suggested we break it up! And I'm so glad we did. Genius!

Hello

We love what our designers did with this fun set!
