Hi everyone! Just dropping in on the Mama Elephant blog today to share a card I made with the new set
Fair Feathers! If you’ve ever visited my blog, you know that I love feathers! And this set is just beautiful!

To give my feathers a little something extra, I stamped a “v” design to mimic the texture of feathers. To achieve this look, I used the slanted stripe stamp from the set Basic Borders. First I stamped the slanted stripes once onto a scrap piece of cardstock. To get the other side of the “v”, I needed the mirror image of the slanted stripes. So I took the solid stripe stamp and kissed it to the inked slanted stripe stamp. This transfers the design so that you can stamp the mirror image.

This allows you to transfer the design to the solid stripe stamp so that you can stamp the mirror image to your paper. (Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds)

After I stamped the background, I blended on some inks in pink, peach, and gold. At the end, I stamped the feather image over all of it. (If you’re wondering, I prefer to blend ink before I stamp the outline image. The outline image will be crisper and darker.)

I repeated the same process to make another feather and fussy cut them both. I finished off my card by attaching the feathers with foam tape, stamping the sentiment, and adding a few sequins. (The sentiment is from the set
Many Thanks)
