New Family with Nichol

Hello friends! Nichol here today with a Designer Series baby card featuring the New Family Stamp Set and coordinating New Family Creative Cuts dies. The sweet bunnies and foxes in the stamp set are perfect for creating cards, tags, and other projects for new babies! I wanted the bunnies to be "soft" so I did a little no line coloring with Prismacolor colored pencils. A soft background and die cut frame and scene add to the delicate feel of my card.

I stamped the bunnies and carrot from the New Family Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Antique Linen Distress Ink and colored in the images with Prismacolor colored pencils and blended the colored lines with Gamsol and a stump pencil. The individual pencil colors are listed below:

BUNNIES: PC1051, PC1068, PC927
DIAPER: PC1024, PC1023
CARROT: PC1033, PC1005, PC1024, PC1023

I die cut the bunnies using the coordinating New Family Dies and then added detail to the eyes with a Sakura Black Glaze Pen. I added dimension to the bunny tails with the Marvy Snow Marker and heated the liquid for the puffy tails.

I die cut a frame for the bunny scene card from watercolor cardstock using the Madison Avenue Creative Cuts Dies, keeping both the inside piece and frame. On the inside piece, I applied Weathered Wood Distress Ink using the Mini Ink Blending Tool and spritzed the background with water from the Distress Sprayer. I blotted the water with a dry paper towel after about 30 seconds. Once the background was completely dry I stamped a greeting from the New Family Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the greeting with gold embossing powder.

I die cut additional frames from watercolor cardstock to use to build up the dimensional border. From one of the additional inside rectangles I die cut a cloudy border using a Landscape Trio Die. I die cut an additional border from vellum using the same border die and layered them along the bottom edge of the background.

I secured the bunnies to the scene and then adhered a frame and the center scene to a card base. I adhered the frames one on top of another to give dimension around the scene.

I die cut a bow from glitter paper using the Dainty Bow Creative Cuts die, assembled the bow and secured it to the top of the frame to finish the design.
