Today I am sharing a handmade card I made featuring Mama Elephant You Raise Me Up stamp set illustrated by Aida Zamora. These adorable stacks of sweet critters are so fun to color and because of the image size, a card comes together so quickly! My favorite kind of handmade card!
To start, I stamped all my images onto watercolor paper. I decided today I wanted to keep things simple with a one layer scene so I had to arrange my images and sentiment exactly where I wanted them to be before watercoloring.
I started by wetting my background then dropping Distress Oxide in Shaded Lilac onto the wet paper to create a nice purple sky. Then I wet the bottom and made a 'ground' for my critters with Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick.
For the stamped images, I used a mixture of Arteza and Zig watercolor markers to color them. I had a lot of fun coloring my pastel cloud - I couldn't decide on one color, so I decided to just color with all three! I love the images of the hanging star and heart and haven't had a chance to use them yet! So I made sure to make room for them on today's design.
After the scene is dry, I die cut it out with Postage Frame - Creative Cuts. I also die cut a white frame and taped the frame and scene together before mounting it all on fun foam. I adhered the scene and frame onto a top-folding A2 pastel purple card base I made and my card is finished!
As always, I hope you like my card and thanks for reading! Ciao!
