PL Inspiration with Jenn Biederman

Hey, it's Jenn again and today I'm sharing some PL layouts for you. This first page was all about using the Flashy Letters. I had so much fun simply using them as they are directly on the packaging. I emphasized the word "art" by stamping those letters separately. If you want to do this technique, simply ink the stamps while still on packaging, then place your cardstock onto the stamps (be careful not to move the paper).

For my next page, I used a mixture of the Flashy Letters, Tree Friends, Central Park & Today Was:

I had to include a shot of this baby doll I came across at a local antique mall...creepy & funny all in one.

I hope you enjoyed my PL pages! I got some new goodies in the mail and plan to use them for next month...cannot wait to show you. Catch you later!

Really cute stuff from Lisa Spangler!

The adorable Lisa Spangler is back here today to show you her projects created with Flashy Letters and Bling. Her projects today made me blush, beam, and laugh out loud. I love Lisa so much, especially her sense of humor! Her fun personality certainly radiates in everything she makes. This girl is a gem and I'm so happy she was here this month to share with us all! :)

Make sure you pop on over to her blog to see more goodies!

As soon as I saw the Flashy Letters set I knew just what I was going to do: make a card for Kryssi! Why, you ask? Well, having a boring name like "Lisa" I know it's super easy to find lotsa fun things with my name on them. Not so with a cool name like hers! So I inked up the letters and went to town! Check it out:

The hot dog and matching message from the Central Park set were calling to me too, so I paired them with some Studio Calico wood veener. Love how this came out, especially the gold polka dots -- also from the Central Park set. Love it when sets come with little bonus shapes like that! I am really into adding little touches of gold and silver on just about everything lately. Makes me happy.

Next up I had to play with the "my world is brighter" message from the Bling set -- because that reminds me of Kryssi too! Kryssi, you really do make my world a brighter place. Thanks my friend.

I had this idea to make a bright, happy sun with watercolors and then add some gold metallic stitching to the rays. And I couldn't stop there, had to add some gold glitter tape and then more glitter to the message! Check it out:

Thanks so much for having me, Kryssi! I had an absolute blast. Big huge mega sunny hugs to you! xx

Amazing Inspiration with Elena Roussakis!

Hey everyone, today we are featuring some pretty awesome cards by Elena Roussakis. Elena was one of the challenge winners last month. I've also been following her work for some time now and one thing is for sure, this girl consistently pounds out beautiful, whimsical cards that have a certain charm to them.

I hope you'll visit her blog HERE to see so much more wonderful creations! In the meantime, we're so lucky to have her here today to share her ME creations with us! take it away, Elena!

I'm thrilled to be able to show off the cards I made using Mama Elephant's Bling set.

First up, I had to use my fave gal with this sentiment - they are such a perfect match:

my world is brighter

I layered some patterned papers and tried my best to fussy-cut around her for a fun focal banner.  Coloring in the dots of the word "brighter" is a great way to accent it!

my world is brighter

Next up, a much softer take on the set:

wish you were here

I used some of the same notebook-style patterned paper on the left, and brought in a frame  and added some twinkle in the night sky.  I added a luggage tag behind the frame - it doesn't move or anything (although that would be cool) but I think it still adds to that "wish you were here" feeling.

wish you were here

I colored in only the lights in the building where I pointed the speech bubble.

wish you were here

I hope you like my ME projects today - thanks for stopping by!

I'm so excited to be able to guest for Mama Elephant this month. They have lots of fun and fresh sentiments stamps that's perfect for card making and scrapbooking. My first card features one of April's release, Tree Friends. I found the perfect pattern paper for the tree image and aged the edges with some distress inks. The tree was coloured with corresponding colors from the pattern paper. A very different style from what I usually do, but I love this card so much!

 Mama Elephant - Tree Friends

Next, I'm using Flashy Letters in a softer and more feminine way. I stamped and cut out the letters, made clothespin using Midnight Letters and stamped the hearts from Central Park behind to mimic some bokeh.

Thank you so much to Kryssi for the opportunity to guest with Mama Elephant this month!

PL Fun With Geralyn Sy!

Hi everyone! It's Geralyn today and I'm here to share a Project Life spread with you. I used a few stamps from all of the new releases on this spread They're pretty amazing. Let me point some of them out.

The Flashy Letters alphas look great when inked up in black or in different colors. For the rainbow alphas, I decided to emboss them and add a bit of foam adhesive for dimension.

I'm a big fan of handwritten sentiments and I used the 'hello' stamp from the Tree Friends set. The leaf stamp is also really cute.

One of the TV shows I'm watching is Suits, which is set in New York. The Central Park stamp set was perfect for documenting this show! I used the cityscape stamp here with blue ink to match the shades of blue in my spread.

That's all from me today. I'll be back soon with another project! Thanks for stopping by!

Layout Inspiration with Jenn Biederman

Hi, it's Jenn and today I am sharing a layout using the "at" symbol from the Bling set and the ampersand from the Today Was set. As an on-again-off-again graphic design student, I am always interested in using these symbols on my work. I cut the title from my Cameo and then layered it over a sheet of purple vellum. To create the arrows on the middle right, I cut out the shapes from the entire stamped image.

Here's a detailed shot:

and another:

Hope you enjoyed today's layout! I'll be back later to share a couple PL layouts I've been working on.

Catch you later!

Lisa Spangler is in the house!

When I squeal, you squeal too, okay?

Lisa Spangler is in the house!

*Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal!!!*

I have the biggest fan girl crafty crush on Lisa. The love affair started when I was just a beginner stamper that curiously participated in the Hero flickr group (I still got mad love for Hero Arts.) She had selected me as her pick for the Win-a-Day contest and gave me a huge boost in confidence and really propelled me headfirst into this stamping world. I'm really not sure if I'd be here today if it weren't for that experience.  She is, in short, my stamping idol and I just could not be happier that she is here today to share her creations using ME stamps, MY stamps! Not only is Lisa so, so nice, but she is one of the most creative stampers out there! Her cards are always so fun and vibrant!

To see more, be sure to visit her blog HERE!

* * * * * * * * * *

Hi there! It's Lisa Spangler here, and it was a huge honor when Kryssi asked me to be an April guest designer! I couldn't wait to see the stamps for the release, and when they arrived the first thing I just HAD to stamp was this cute skunk from the Tree Friends set. Love him so much!

 photo hello_zps574a94b4.jpg

I had a little trick I wanted to try -- adding white enamel accents for his eyes and nose and coloring them with Copics. Happy to say that it worked great! I colored his nose with a light pink, and added a black pupil in his eye with a Copic multiliner.

 photo hello-closeup_zpsaf6112fb.jpg

Another thing I played around with on this card was mixing stamping with black and gray (Hero Arts soft granite) ink. I think they give a neato contrast. So I stamped some of the flowers in soft granite and some in black.

Then for my finishing touch I couldn't resist adding a little glitter! I added some to all the flower centers -- even the patterned paper -- and the jumping trail too. :)

For my second card I wanted to play with the buildings in the Bling set, but in a different way! I thought they would make a fun pattern, kinda like washi tape. So I went to town stamping them in neon pink, orange soda, butterbar, pale tomato, tide pool, and soft granite.

 photo omg_zpsa8efb1f4.jpg

Then I wanted to play around with shades of gray again, so this time I added a charcoal strip and stamped the Oh. Em. Gee message from Good Times in charcoal too. This just has to be one of my favorite messages of all time!

 photo omg-closeup_zps57f1cfbe.jpg

I added a few sequins to the card, tucking some under the stamped piece and some on top. Love doing that.

Thanks so much again to Kryssi for having me -- can't wait to share my other projects with you!

xx, Lisa
