Today's First Look is Water Blooms, a modern floral set inspired by floral patterns you see on a lot of the popular fabrics these days. It was designed to have a more artsy, watery effect. I like the open circles we incorporated into some of the florals, it really lends to that watery, bokeh, dreamy illusion. I have to admit that I couldn't put this set down this month, I've managed to sneak and combine this set into a few other designs that you'll see later.
- Water Blooms will be available for purchase on June 15th.
- Water Blooms comes in a 4x6 clear acetate sheet and will retail for $15.00.
- Water Blooms contains 14 stamps: 3 sentiments and 11 images. Approximate measurements: Single large round bloom: 7/8"; Single small round bloom: 5/8"; Large cluster of round blooms: 2-5/8" x 2-1/2"; Congratulations on your special day sentiment: 2-3/4" x 3/4"
My first card, I created a cluster of the blooms in Water Blooms in teal, pink, and gold. Because of its imperfect shapes, the flowers were rather easy to cut out by hand. I didn't even attempt to cut them carefully. I usually detest anything labor intensive, but these were a breeze to cut through. I probably cut out 25 flowers in 10 minutes!
It's the end of the school year, hence thank you cards are on my mind. The small sentiment is from Filigree which I find particular handy for cards like this when I don't want to detract attention away from the main focus.
Here's a closer look at the flowers, it's hard to tell that my cutting was super fast! They look like die cuts :) I'm quite proud of myself for how well this worked out. :)
Then I couldn't stop inking the set up, here are two super quick and easy cards. You can create such elegant, polished cards with Water Blooms!
Here's another where I created a cascade of petals/confetti falling from the top. So romantic and festive looking in these soft colors. You like the sentiment? So many weddings coming up and these cards will surely come in handy!
And there you go, a beautiful and versatile floral set! Thanks for looking. :)
These are beautiful! I don't usually go for floral kits, but these flowers look like they can be both punchy and demure. Lovely!
