First Look: Rewind

Happy Monday! Today kicks off my First Look posts showing you my projects using our new August release. Angela might pop in every now and then too! :)

We're taking a look at Rewind today, a set focusing on the pretty much now-extinct cassette tapes that many of us remembers fondly. We decided to try and come up with a unique take on it hence we designed the set around the main image and the script word "Rock" which can be part of the tape! Your cassettes are pretty much ruined once your tape comes out in that mangled mess, but this was fun nonetheless!

Did you sign up for Online Card Classes - Stretch Your Stamps 2 yet? In yesterday's class, I created a similar card in this freestyle "color outside the lines" technique. I used my beloved Gansai 36 piece watercolor set, but you can achieve this look using any watercoloring medium. Don't be afraid to make a controlled mess! :)

And now a more playful version where the "Rock" is detached. It's makes for a pretty focal sentiment! To match the edgy sentiment, I splattered some white ink. This tied up my simple one layered card!

Thanks for joining me today! See you again, manana!

  3. Great stamp set! I love how the "Rock" sentiment can not only be used with the cassette but looks great on its own! Isn't it insane that people that were born in the millenium have no idea what a cassette tape is?! I feel so old!!!

  17. Oh yes, brings back the memories...of desperately trying to save cassette tapes by rotating a pencil to put the ribbon back into place. I need this stamp set in my life. Need.
