Slim Card Basics with Keeway

Hello friends! It's Keeway here today and I'm thrilled that many of you have joined me in creating slimline cards with our new Slim Card Basics die! Throughout the Stamp Highlight series, I have showcased various ways to use the Slim Card Basics die for your cardmaking needs, and today I will be using it to make a full-sized slimeline shaker card.

To start at the beginning, I want to share with you all the various cuts you can get out of the Slim Card Basics. Mix and match combination in the set to create frames, large rectangular areas with decorated edges, multiple windows, clouds, and hills. So much in one set!

Since I haven't seen any stencils made for the width of a slimline card (8.5"), I have used the cloud stencil in this set to create my own out of acetate. This allowed me to easily create this ink blended cloudy background across the full length of the card with ease!

For my sky scene, I have picked out this cute set called Fly With Me, stamped in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers. I used the coordinating creative cuts to die cut the images out.

I die cut the scallop frame out of white cardstock four times to create enough thickness to add sequins in. With a thin frame, it is easier to stack die cuts than to use foam tape. It is also much more sturdy! After filling in my sequins, I used a large scallop rectangle that I die cut out of acetate to close off the area and finished it off with one more frame.

I created a long sentiment so I used the Headliner Alphas to build my own! I die cut the letters to spell out 'sending' and completed the sentiment with the sentiment 'big hugs' heat embossed in white on one of the balloons.

These elephants are so sweet! And I think this is a perfect card to send out to remind our friends and family that we haven't been visiting that we are still there sending happy thoughts and hugs.

There you have it! All the various cards made with the Slim Card Basics and other Mama Elephant stamp sets. Be sure to also check out Vera's genius post a few days back where she used the Slim Card Basics to create cute scallop edged mini cards! Thanks for joining me today!
