First Look: Say What

Today's First Look feature is none other than Say What! Say What's jumping point was completely inspired by Psy's hit song Oppa Gangnam Style. The song remains very popular here and in my household, as evident in my kids, sister's kids, friends' kids, your kids, etc. dancing to it nearly everyday! 

We designed this set to be super fun with great add-on sentiments to the main one as well as little knicks and knacks perfect for layouts! I think you'll like this one a lot!

• Say What comes in a 4x6 clear acetate sheet and will retail for $15.00.
• Say What contains a total of 14 stamps. The circle stamp measures 1-1/16"; Heeeyyyyy Sexy Lady! measures 2-1/8" x 1-1/8".

Onto my project... I created a neat little shaker gold with silver taking center stage today. This would make a really great birthday card because it's so festive!

I first stamped my sentiment using black and grey ink. Then I took a piece of clear acetate and stitched a pocket with my sewing machine. Before closing the last end, throw in some of that silver confetti. Finally, when you've got the right amount of confetti (don't overdo it), sew up the last end. The last step is to layer it on top of a matching silvery grey patterned paper. I believe this one is from Hambly.

Shaker cards are so much fun to shake, shake, shake! Give it a try!

First Look: Rustic Spring

We're knee deep in the middle of Winter but I find myself dreaming of warmer weather to come. Please Spring, hurry! 

We designed a little gem of a stamp set featuring cute little images of birds, nests, berry branches, etc. You'll love the clean design feel of Rustic Spring and find that it's perfect not only for Springtime but year round as well!

• Rustic Spring contains a total of 20 stamps: 5 sentiment stamps and 15 images. The circle stamp measures 1-11/16"; the nest image measures 1" wide; Bless This Nest measures 1-3/4".

I have a very fresh card for you today featuring the birdcage and long berry branch from Rustic Spring. 

First I masked off the bottom portion of my wooden tag with a post-it note. Then I took my Versamark pad and inked it directly on top of the unmasked tag. Then I tossed some gold embossing powder on top and embossed it. So simple and so pretty!

Then I stamped all the images and selectively colored some berries with a gold gel pen. Keeping with the gold, I found some gold polka dot washi tape and made it the baseline of my card. 

A doily and some of my favorite thin white twine finished off the card. Simple and structured!

February 2013 Stamp Previews

Happy Chinese New Year, folks! We wish you all happiness, health, and lots of success this year! 

We've got another great release this month and what makes it even better is that we are joined by our newly minted Design Team! Over the next few days, I'll be sharing with you my projects right here with a feature I decided to call First Look. You'll have noticed I started calling it that last month, not to be confused with our Stamp Highlights features which follows immediately after our Release and Stampede on the 15th. We've also decided to change things up a bit to provide you more inspiration and ways to stretch your stamps with our new designers. You'll see more of that later on. Okay, let's get on with the Previews now shall we?

So Breezy is a celebration of Spring and things... breezy, for a better lack of words, ha! You'll find kites and paper airplanes for you to combine with a boy and girl image. Included are also some handwritten sentiments by yours truly along with some simple words to pair them with. 

Heeeyyyy, sexy lady! Gangnam Style, anyone? LOL! Oh yes, we went there!!! You'll find lots of sentiments in this one along with some very fun sayings. We've got a cool mix of basic and funky!

Rustic Spring is a versatile element building set. You'll find lots of smaller scaled images that you can use to create your own tag or scene even! The images are all very clean and graphic in nature. So many possibilities in this one!

We're bringing you our second border background building set with Modern Borders. These are not your regular chevrons, scallops, or hexagons! We know you'll be reaching for this set over and over again, I know I have been!

Chinese New Year Blog Hop

Welcome to the Chinese New Year Blog Hop! We are thrilled to have you join us. The Year of the Snake officially begins on Sunday, February 10th so be sure to wish all your Chinese friends longevity, happiness, wealth and good fortune during this two-week festival!

I come from a very big family and every holiday is a little crazy. Chinese New Year is crazy x 10! We all travel to my parents in Brooklyn to celebrate -- there's lots of food, fun, chasing after the kids, laughing, and talking over everyone else. It gets rumbustious and loud! The married adults have to be armed with red envelopes filled with money for all the kids for luck. It's great having everyone home together. I am really looking forward to Sunday and hope the impending blizzard won't hamper our plans!

So, we have a free digital stamp for you!!! Just right click and "save as" to download!

Here's what I created with it.... a modern red envelope! I took some small circle stamps (found 2 sizes in Cup of Wishes) to create the gold coins/confetti/bokeh background-- any of that works, right?

Slip a note or some cold hard lucky cash in the red envelope and you're good to go!

Remember to incorporate RED when making your Chinese New Year cards or red envelopes. Red is a lucky color! I remember my mom had me stamp red hearts onto the white envelopes of my wedding invitations. Asians can be very sensitive about their colors! :)

I am so excited to announce our new and improved Design Team for 2013!
